Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Nairobi by your professional English-speaking driver guide. After a short safari briefing, depart northwards through the scenic Kenyan highlands, passing lush coffee and tea plantations, local towns, and breathtaking countryside landscapes.

Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at Samburu Simba Lodge or a similar luxury lodge. After check-in and relaxation, embark on your first exciting afternoon game drive in the reserve aboard a 4x4 safari Land Cruiser equipped with a pop-up game viewing hatch for exceptional wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.

Explore the rugged beauty of Samburu as you search for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and the unique “Samburu Special Five” species found only in Northern Kenya. Enjoy the stunning scenery and rich wildlife diversity before returning to the lodge in the evening.

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Samburu National Reserve with packed lunch or lunch at the lodge depending on the day’s schedule.

Spend the day exploring the reserve’s diverse landscapes, including riverine forests, open savannahs, and rocky hills. The Ewaso Nyiro River, which flows through the reserve, attracts a wide variety of wildlife and offers excellent game viewing opportunities throughout the day.

Keep an eye out for elephants roaming freely, prides of lions resting beneath acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the plains, and crocodiles basking along the riverbanks. Samburu is also home to rare wildlife species unique to the region, including the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx.

Enjoy uninterrupted game viewing from the comfort of your safari vehicle while learning fascinating facts about the wildlife, culture, and ecosystem from your experienced guide. Guests are provided with 1 litre of mineral water per person during the safari for added comfort.
